The rumour has been circulating around the 13 coins gym for about a week or so but today, it was confirmed. Saenchai “Sor Kingstar” has decided to accept a lucrative offer put fourth by the Sinbi Muay Thai gym in Phuket, Thailand. As of November 11th, he will be fighting for Sinbi instead of the 13 coins gym here in Bangkok, where he’s been for quite some time now.
He’s an active fighter and current champion (he’s the best in the world right now), so I imagine most of his time there will be spent on his own training but according to the Sinbi website, students will be available to hire him for private lessons. Needless to say, the vibe here at 13 coins isn’t that great at the moment.
Saenchai is gone. Pornsanah is gone. A couple fighters got kicked out of the gym after a poor performance at Raja last night and Ja, who’s an awesome trainer, was also let go (apparently). Who knows though, hopefully things will turn around and some of these guys will be brought back. Ah well, at least I got a clinch session in with Saenchai the other day..
